90.9 KRCL.

As a longtime listener, I have fallen in love with 90.9 KRCL's vintage music taste and support for up-and-coming artists. This local Utah station works around the clock to maintain its place on air. I wanted to create signage that promoted their station. I was inspired by the vintage collage trend and decided to experiment with that aesthetic.

 “AUDREY”

I created the collaged characters in each poster on Photoshop. Since my posters were advertising a spring fundraiser, I decided to add spring images to my collages. This character was inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s character’s race hat near the end of the 1964 film, “My Fair Lady.”

 “MELANIE”

When researching collage ideas for this promotional poster series, I was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s horror film, “The Birds.” In the films promotional material, the main character, Melanie, was pictured smoking a cigarette with a crow. I decided
to alter that image and add a substitute a chick in leu of the spring theme.

"GUY"

While creating the last poster, I realized that I had no male representation. This is Guy. I really enjoyed adding the bunny ears to his poster. The women in the previous posters were using headphones to listen to KRCL. Since Guy has two sets of ears, I felt he would be okay.
